Doctor Doom will soon face the Marvel Cinematic Universe's greatest heroes in Avengers: Doomsday, and new fan art has recently been released, showcasing a uniquely terrifying look for the iconic villain. Doctor Doom has proven to be a difficult character to get right, following several different iterations in various Fantastic Four films. Following this, the MCU has decided to go a different direction with the character, casting Tony Stark himself, Robert Downey Jr., in the role. This will surely lead to a unique version of the villain, suggested by this art.

A user named laskapsyna, who describes themselves as a "nonbinary multifandom artist", recently shared their design for Doom to TikTok. In a short clip, with what appears to be rain falling around the villain, a terrifying iteration of Doctor Doom stands in regal armor. The song "me and the devil" by Cee plays over the clip, where the majestic and seductive design had one commenter asking "HOW IS IT SO HOT ALL THE TIME???"

The guiding inspiration behind this design is not entirely clear, as it seems to be pulled from a number of different styles, including anime and even the Chinese dragon with what resembles an extended tongue and various horns. However, the creator shared the comment "green bros" and the hastag "#loki", suggesting that the design instead could have been inspired by Loki's classic uniform. This understanding may meaningfully interact with how Doctor Doom could enter the MCU.

A Link Between Loki And Doom May Occur In The MCU

This iteration of Doom could make for a great multiverse design for the character, but it also suggests a viable entry point for Victor into the MCU. Following the ending of Loki, the God of Mischief has become a temporal loom, holding the timelines together. This role will likely be important to the entrance of Doctor Doom to the MCU, who surely will have something to do with the structure of timelines going into Avengers: Secret Wars. Following this, some deep connection may be made between Loki and Doom in the franchise.

It is more likely that Doctor Doom will appear in the MCU with either a more classic look or an Iron Man-inspired look, even if laskapsyna's design may contain some Iron Man elements. However, that does not discount the theory that Doctor Doom's story will be tied in with Loki's. Art like this helps to convey the many different ways that the story of Doom could go. Whether through the TVA, or other multiversal entities and structures, Doom will surely be a terrifying addition to the universe, as has been captured in this art.

Doom Will Need To Be Terrifying In Doomsday

When Doctor Doom enters the Marvel Cinematic Universe, I believe it will need to be made immediately apparent how terrifying of a foe he is. This can be communicated well through an updated costume design, akin to the one shared in this art. While many different iterations of the villain, including various costumes, have been shared through the years, this art shows that there are still original ways to represent the villain in Avengers: Doomsday. I hope that the design chosen for the character in the film is at least as effective as this one.
